algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Experimenting with Kangaroo and Galapagos.

No real design intent, catenary vaults with kangaroo minimising solar incidence with Galapagos.

Optimisation runs for around 5 minutes

Great Nick
That's what I'm trying to do!!
Please, can you show me how did you do that?

Thank you in advance :)

good job

can you share the script of the simulation ?

Cool thanks Artyom, i feel bad making you consult the manual on my behalf, i will have to properly test it all, to work out when/where i would need each one.

Wonderful!!!

And the GH timer sets the timing for calculating GH iterations, i suppose.

Comment by Artyom Maxim on November 20, 2013 at 1:03pm

And the timestep is "how far through time the system moves at each iteration" as stated in the manual.

and what is its relationship to TimeStep and the Timer?

I would say, the number of subiterations is the number of cycles that kangaroo does within one GH iteration.

@Arthur,

Its not the gravity, i wanted to be able to move the anchor points, so the anchor points have to begin in the right place or it all fails. So they follow a little path for movement, that starts in the correct place. The only annoying aspect is resetting them all to 0 each time you reset the calculation.

My limited understanding is that increasing the subiterations, means that kangaroo completes the simulation internally with no visuals, speeding it up. And the mesh that is output is always the final catenary form that has found equilibrium.

Are you changing the values of the gravity with Galapagos? Does it mean that each Kangaroo iteration in this case is the final one?
