Martin,

Usually people have been dividing the curves into points and then using the rhino command "meshfrompoints." It will direct you to download the meshfrompoints plugin on mcneel's website. 

There is also a GH component that someone made that calls the rhino function from in GH - don't recall where I got it from but you could do a search.
