Hello!
About butterfly 0005:
I downloaded blueCFD, BF 0005 . and everything seems to work, but simulation just takes unimaginable time . I run the outdoor_airflow (everything default) and the description in the solution part says "Solution should be converged in 561 iterations with default settinbgs" after 10 minutes it's on iteration 8.
Is it normal?

Best regards
Shahrokh

Thank you so much for the release of Butterfly! It sounds too early since it is just released, but I am wondering if there are any validation case studies by using Butterfly. I saw case studies for OpenFOAM, but couldn't find one for Butterfly.

@Anupama, I replied to the discussion. You should send your questions either to GitHub or the discourse.ladybug.tools

Hi

I am running the “Outdoor airflow” example file. I am trying to map pressure on walls and roof of the bigger block. Front, back and one of the side wall gives positive pressure results however roof, and another side wall gives result of <-100000000000000000000000000….Pascal

Is this trying to say pressure is negative on these sides. If yes, is there a way to map negative pressure on those meshes?

Thank you and Best Regards

Hi Robert, Based my understanding you only need to allow Hardware Assisted Virtualization. Haven't heard about the second one. This one need to be set always to true to be able to run the VM and use docker which is how butterfly accesses and runs OpenFOAM.

Thanks for the note. The links are fixed. They also come with the installation. In case you haven't seen them already I made a number of videos for installation and getting started with Butterfly.

Mostapha,

P.S. on your "Getting Started" GitHub page the example link in 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 are broken.

Hi Mostapha,

The OpenFOAM installations requires one to first change the BIOS to allow Hardware Assisted Virtualization. I enabled the two places I found this on my laptop; one was simply labeled Virtualization Technology; the other was labeled Virtualization Technology Directed (VT-d). Do you know if enabling both of these is neccesary? Do you know if this must be set permanently or is it just for the installation of OpenFOAM?

My Best,

Rob
