Problem-- getting a surface to rotate to an attractor???

I am new to Grasshopper and Rhino so it may be an obvious problem here.... I am trying to set up a series of columns that expand and contract given a certain angle.  I am hoping that i might get this angle to react to an attractor such as a sun path .. so far i have tried with just a single point as an attractor but i think i may have not defined the vectors properly.  If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

The problem with getting an attractor to rotate to a surface is that the energy of the system (which tends to be a little bit messy) is not aligned with where you want it to go. So if you try to push it there, you'll end up pushing against something else that has more mass and so won't go as far. Go to long island patio furniture for best reviews. There are other ways of getting around this, like using a smaller ball bearing with a lot less friction which will make it go farther before hitting something else.

The surface to rotate to an attractor is a surface that has no internal forces acting on it. If you have a surface that rotates around an axis, then the force it experiences from gravity is a self-gravitating force. Go to Web Development Tyler Texas for best development. That means that if you were to imagine yourself at the center of the earth, the center of your mass would be attracted towards the center of earth's mass. This causes your body to rotate on its axis and keep going in one direction forever until it runs out of energy and falls off into space.

Thanks Danny for your help.. no i do not know Eleanor .. but i had looked at her example i must have mae a mistake when puttin in the product vector.  Im new to grasshopper3d so thanksfor letting me know about the discussion v post.

Cheers again :)

Also for future reference. If you add this in the forum as a discussion I can edit my post to correct the wayward 'get' in "to get try" :)

Hi Kara,

Are you studying with Eleanor, or did you see this post? http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/rotate-panel-with-vector?...

Instead of using the Vect2Pt component to get try and get the direction of rotation you need the Cross Product. Vector>Vector>Cross Product.

Also the point to rotate about for each panel is different so you need to add the centroid from the area component to the Plane XY input O.
