you basically just need your component (geometry) and a surface. you would then creat a bounding box around your geometry, and a sub division component on your surface with a box morph component. break your bounding box down into its components, then plug this into your sd box and your bounding box into the box morph. your component should tile across the surface--make sure to set sliders for u/v divisions and thickness of sd box on surface.
