Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Wohooo did it! Planar hexagons on a double curved surface!!
- no additional scripts/plugins
- hexagons planar and centroid tangent to surface
- hexagons fit watertight.
If there is intetest ill make this public, after some tweaks

Hey guys, thanks for the interest. Unfortunately, for now it only works for any surface with Gaussian curvature > 0. The only thing to solve is when the surface (or part) has negative curvature.

I used this research as a base, http://www.cs.hku.hk/research/techreps/document/TR-2008-13.pdf

I hope i can solve it, so maybe ill make a component in the end, which spits out planar hexagons on any surface you plugin :)

Hexagons are obtained flat on any surface? Or only on the surface of revolution?
