You guys on the forums are really helpful. Seriously. I thought everyone was just showing off and it was some kind of competition, but everyone's great! I managed to get some help from the wonderful Rodrigo Medina, founder of Design Playground. He took time out of his busy day to help me with some GH and Weverbird. But, I'll be using your description when I get the chance at a later stage and let you know how it goes.

You're great!

I'll try to remember the steps I followed, The surface you have in Grasshopper, bake it. Then, with T Splines convert it to a T Spline but don't make it smooth, leave it like a mesh. Then use the command tsthicken to give your mesh thickness, then convert it to a Rhino mesh. Go to grasshopper and  use the CatmullClark and/or Loop Subdivision in the Weaverbird Tools, using the mesh you created before.

This is just a vague description, try these steps, play with them a little. If you have any problems, let me know and I'll redo the exercise to give you the exact steps in case I'm remembering them incorrectly. This should smoothen your mesh and make it look like mine in the picture. I might add that you need to have a really good graphics card to display this kind of geometry.

Cheers, Liam

I have Weaverbird, and the T Splines plug-in for Grasshopper.

PLEASE can you give me some direction as to how to get this far?! I have created a hexagonal surface in Grasshopper, and baked it into Rhino Is this the correct direction even, or should I continue in Grasshopper?

Thanks for all of your help.

Liam
