The focus of the workshop will be "Parametric Urbanism" more than the specific tool. That's why we will do grasshopper3D (which will include vb) and Maya3D. The workshop is not a tool oriented workshop but rather the workshop will introduce participants into contemporary discussion of formal exploration in urban design methodologies enacted through the medium of computation...
hmm...there is an entire discussion on this topic...personally I believe that the reason why parametric architecture is so blamed in our days is because many times "parametricism is misused " the geometrical complexity dose not support the architectural complexity...or in other words
1.you cannot increase the geometrical complexity without increasing the architectural meaning...
2.you cannot assign like mad "gradients" into a parametric model, without dealing with a sort of architectural gradient like, transition space for example, or transition from one program to another...there should be a valid meaningful architectural criteria that represents the main driven force of the "parametric model"
..so to conclude I will say that any "parametric work" that fails to be a valid architectural work is not a good ones....definitely could be only sculpture, and a good one actually... but not a valid piece of architecture
and to close on a more positive tone... I believe that used properly a parametric model, is able to respond to present multi-layered and increasingly complex relationships architectural system, in a meaningful correlated way...
hope that is the response that you are looking for;)
Hello, very agree with your point of view, and all parameters should be has practical significance,Do you also use processing, I recently in learning processing but I don't know how to use processing in buildings, I hope you can tell me or give me some examples of processing, thank you

Were there be coding classes too? Or is the code on poster just for aesthetical purposes?
On the poster there stands: Maya and Grasshopper only.

hello djordje
yes there will be mainly maya and grasshopper

Thanks.
So the code on upper poster was inserted just for aesthetical reasons?

Petras Vestartas
I saw your final presentation in Zaha group.
You are really cool.
How long are you using processing?

hey Petras, thank you, I was quite wasted during that presentation (many overnights...)

how do you think a parametric work good or bad?

@ZI
maybe you should formulate your question more accurately. if you do that, it could happens that you answer the question for yourself.

I want to konw what kinds of parametric works are really good ones? some of them are just copy.

@Petras Vestartas
I'm using processing for a few years now, something like 4/5 years now
