The techniques used to shape and guide the living vegetation are pruning and pleaching, which are Ancient techniques. there are out there many projects and researcher already speculating and working on this things to integrate the into architecture, fore sure more than when I worked on my project back in 2009.

now there is new data about inosculation and tree joints but i cant seem to find it, but hope this is good enough to illustrate the techniques that I proposed to shape the mangroves.

I read the blog you posted but I still do not understand: what do locals exactly do with these tree roots?

They throw it over (by hand), from one side of the river to another, while the roots are still young, and then wait for 10-15 years for them to become stronger?
