Hi Angelos,

Thanks!..

I see that you are struggling with triangulating closed NURBS surfaces, I have gone through this experiment for a while.. Let me explain how I was working may be that help.

The Idea of deformed geodesic structure controlled me for a while... so I started with a very basic geodesic sphere... unfortunately the script available on the forum builds a triangle and with a process of mirroring the sphere is there... but as I wanted to have a deformed geodesic sphere I can't use mirrors...

I started with the GEODESIC THREE perpendicular planes, and and detected the intersection points with my surface, then I used these points to build the first iteration of the geodesic structure... after that it was an easy job... take every triangle, subdivide into equal triangles, project the points to original surface and rebuild smaller iteration.. and so on.. and when the original deformed surface is more a longitudinal in one direction, I add more than one plane to keep the division proportioned...

Then I used another approach.. I used T-spline to build my surface, then used the low-poly mesh generated by t-spline and imported it to TOPMOD for further mesh submission techniques.

I hope that might be useful for you to continue.

GO ON, this looks good!

hope you finish your script!

Hi Avi,

Unfortunately I haven't progressed much with this concept, i have shifted to catmull clarks sub-D, I hope I can finish it one day as I really believe in this  concept

These free-form geodesics are incredible.  Have you made any progress on the script?  I would love attempting to add some multi-layer functionality to it.
