Interesting!

Reminded me of this thread, especially of a part of discussion about the relationship between the stress and curvature directions. 

Not very familiar with this topic, but i guess this "curvature relaxation" would definitely reduce the stresses in a surface, wouldn't it?

(note - the physics is still working just on the discrete version, not the NURBS)
