algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Testing one of the coordinate conversion algorithms in Grasshopper 2.0 Since this mapping involves RhinoCommon transforms I can't test it within VS, so instead it needs to be invoked from within Rhino.

Hi Giovanni, elliptic coordinates are relatively simple, provided you have access to CosH and SinH functions.

Hi David check out this project in Melbourne fabricated last year, the ceiling pattern looks a lot like your beautiful image above. Although, that one was drawn in Rhino "by hand", wouldn't know where to start if I had to script that :)  Collective consciousness!

@Christian, yes, and yes. This is GH1 I'm testing in so I have to make a high res mesh, but GH2 will have a whole range of bitmap and floatmap types/effects.

How did you do the map? Is it a high resolution mesh or will there be pixels in GH2?

Unfortunately there's no easy way to go from Cartesian to Elliptic. Trying to write an iterative solver for this, but there's still areas that don't work well. This is a map of the numeric accuracy of the result. Blue=good, red=bad. Clearly I'm overcompensating the mu factor along the central vertical axis...
