Dear Laurent: My honest opinion:

1. I would not buy that chair
2. I appreciate the math behind the design
3. Its easy to clean or dust, unlike the damn overpriced Aeron Chair by Herman Millar I sit on.

my rating 2/3 :)

Thanks

The process is quite similar with what is presented in the links you mention. I made some mesh based on very low poly mesh, which are smoothed and remeshed with meshmachine. The idea is to have regular triangles. In reaction diffusion script I continue to subdivide mesh in order to have small size triangles.

In order to have directionality I used geodesic distance to have control curves. But curves could be drawn by hand. RD is perpandicular to curves for the back (coefficient of directionality equal to 0.5 inferior to 1) and parallel for the seat (coefficient of directionality equal to 3, superior to 1)
