They still need some work, especially around the lens fit.

This was only a sketch model for a render although I'm getting it printed next week on the 3D System 3500.

The only input into this model is the lens outline, everything is then offset from that. They most commonly start from a blank lens which is cut in store but I'm sure there's also a some standards.

yeah, this is an interesting project. I've thought about how to do this a lot because we have a multi-material 3d printer at work. I'd want to start with the lens geometry though... do you know if it is possible to get lens geometry of lenses that can be supplied rather than designing lenses and having to get them made specially? Or do lenses all start life as circular lenses and get cut to shape?

I'm working on a similar project, customizable generative sunglasses.

Sorry, but let me say that the lenses are wrong. Real ones are simple portion of torus.
