Topic: Octopus Loop - How to use
, but gets very slow when I increase the grid cells. So I decided to use the Octopus Loop, but my problem is that I don't get how it works. I don't understand what do I need to connect to the bottom wire entrances and how. I read the Manual and googled a lot, but no results. Could anyone give me some insight or give a link where I can find it out? best theodora…

Comment on: Topic 'Google analytics component?'
from any existing plugin or the Flux API via our SDKs. They can store any kind of data. The second part of Flux is the Flow, our parametric visual design interface in the browser. This allows for data manipulation and transformation between applications on the wire. I would anticipate you run a node.js server or similar and use our JavaScript SDK to send and retrieve data from single or multiple Flux data keys with the Google API. You'll see I did something similar in this Slack chat app integration: https://twitter.com/AntBuckleyThorp/status/714371241310748672 There is no reason you couldn't use C# either. It depends how easily that interfaces with the Google API. I used to program in C# alone but now tend towards JavaScript to for web applications. Flux can pass any data type through the data table but we do so in json format. You can easily send XML or other data as strings etc. Our plugins encode and decode the json payload to the native application locally. The SDK handles encryption between plugins and the server. If you email sdk@flux.io explaining what you are trying to achieve you should be able to get a developer token quite soon. You will be sent links to developer documentation and examples too. Feel free to email me at anthony@flux.io if you hit any walls. Best Anthony…

Topic: I've posted a question and no one has answered it!
nd what you can do to make it more attractive to get answers. The chances of getting an answer in a single unit of time are proportional to the number of people who can answer that question. If you ask a very obscure question it may take quite a while for someone knowledgeable enough to stumble upon it. The chances of getting a good answer are proportional to the quality of the question. Phrasing, spelling, proper use of caps and punctuation, descriptive title and so on and so forth. If you have a file pertaining to the question and you are allowed to post it, do so. If you have an image/pdf/link that pertains to your question, include it. Questions that allow for prompt answers will be dealt with quicker than questions which are vague, ambiguous, open-ended or large in scope. I.e. "How do I make a facade like this in Grasshopper?" will probably not be answered as it would be far too much work. If you use Google Translate to post a question in English, also be sure to include the question in a language you are fluent in. Google Translate is a pretty terrible way of communicating and phrases usually get mangled beyond recognition. Before posting a problem, reduce it to the smallest workable (but still problematic) subset. I.e. don't post a 200 component file if a 5 component file can be used instead. …

Comment on: Topic 'I seem to loose precision when I divide a curve...'
. This was a brief response to a previous discussion by Damien (NURBS geometry afficionado/connoisseur) http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/reparametricizing-a-bezier You can do a Google search to find out more about curve parameters and NURBS geometry. To check the length of your curve segments you can measure the length of sub-curve from 2 adjacent curve parameters. …

Comment on: Topic 'Felix Candela structure Los Manantiales Restaurant at Xochimilco...some problem…'
ath-structure analysis course I think you'll need to do the (rest of the) math:)Have you googled the hyperbolic paraboloid? I bet if you do so you'll get to understand how you can make one yourself based on your curves.Good luck, let me know how fast you've solved this, or when you get completely stuck despite trying hard;). B.t.w. I liked playing with this shape a lot, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I hope you won't mind too much that I'm posting a video based on this subject on the forum. I think you'll like it:)…

the field). It is not an easy plugin as you need a specific grid to output to Radiance, please let me know if you manage to make it work. I ended up exporting manually to radiance during this workshop.   Hope that was more personal than google!   Arthur   PS: love the Wikipedia on very British expressions!…

r effort and looking forward to any future developments especially the stitching feature! One thing I would like to add would be mentioning "this is in square meter" in the tooltip of the inputs just to make it easier to understand (I had to read through this thread to find out it's in meter). Also I seem to have hit the number of requests limit set by Google and I can't generate anything at all at the moment. Hopefully it is gonna reset tomorrow. Putting a warning label in the tooltip of the component will be a neat thing to do I reckon. Regards, Ching…

Comment on: Topic '"Grasshopper breakpoint" error occurs in the grasshopper_wip_20120802'
n the lower left corner of the window, the grasshopper slow down drastically because the computer calculates the message whenever it happens although it does not appear on screen.  I did not install any non-standard GHA libraries or User objects.  The problem only happens in my laptop which has win7 32bit. I have no problem in my desktop which has win7 64bit.  Thank you so much.…
