to position our PVsurface rows, the glass panels are not shading the PVsurfaces beneath them. If they would have shaded them, we could have supply them to the coniferousTrees_ input and set the coniferousAllyearIndex_ input to the transmittance of glass panels (around 0.5 depending on the glass type). But as these are just assumptions, you can always put everything into the context_ input, except for the threes.For literature: there are a number of papers with detailed explanations on how shading affects a cell/module/array.Ladybug Photovoltaics components use a generalized shading approach where shading losses are integrated into other system losses (that's what the DCtoACderateFactor_ input is for).You can read more about shading method in here.This article on PV shading is very useful. On three pages, it closely replicates the way Sunpath shading component is working.If you have any other issue, let me know.…

calc based on (http://ibpsa.org/proceedings/BS2007/p231_final.pdf) . To do this you'd have to do a single point vertical illuminance calc,  which is very easy with Daysim. This result is valid only for those hours for which sun isn't directly visible in your field of view. 2. Identify those hours for which sun is visible from your view point based on sunlight hours calculations. 3. Run a glare calculation for those hours. You can probably pick one-in-three cases and cut down the time for calcs further. 4. A more invasive method, described in (https://www.ibpsa.org/proceedings/BS2009/BS09_0944_951.pdf), requires getting illuminance values from daysim and luminance-based values from evalglare. That will require some additional outputs to be added to the existing Honeybee_Glare Analysis component. Clear all of this with your advisor first!…

I'll explain shortly my design. I'm trying to bring natural light deeper into a generic building. To do so, I want to use a system in which a mirror outside the facade directs the sunlight through a horizontal shaft composed of mirrors on the upper part and on the sides with a "membrane" on the lower side defined as a "Trans Material". My goal is to obtain an effect like the one showed in the attached photo. It's a skylight make of opaque semi-transparent plastic.  Does anyone know any good parameter to simulate that?
