Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone! I´m Alex Tellez, and to begin I´d like to be part of this forum for share knowledge and parametric design skills. Sorry for the wrong english expressions.

Ok, my question is about my final project "Parametric Fairing with aerodynamic criteria". We are a team motorbike racing compound by Malaga University students.

I´ve a lot of ideas, and questions to do here, but the most pressing issue is the next one:

To begin, I have a points cloud controled by XYZ sliders from each one. To automatize the fairing aerodynamic studio, I need a small definition, or maybe a GH configuration which provide me save different bakes when I change sliders controls .

The reason, is because one of my team mate, needs check out a variety of fairing shapes, in other program to process many different aerodinamic studios.

So He asked me, if it would be possible save these different bakes, directly in a folder where the other program export all files inside to do self check.

I don´t know if it´s possible do everything from GH. I hope someone can help me on it.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Alex!

Check out these tools from Giulio Piacentino, maybe you can find something that works for you here:

Good luck!

Thanks! I´ll research about that components..

I don´t understand how those components can be helpful to solve my problem =S
Can you give me a hand with it? (Actually, I know you´re very busy with the camps)
So, I wait your answer, without rush, of course.

Check this example with "Data Recorder", a new geometry is generated every time that you move the slider, then you can bake.

Best

Yeah, It could be a solution, but I already did other kind of definition about part´s movement in space.
I actually need manage the baked parts, to export in other program. It could be perfect with automatic system to save files, or maybe another component.
