Hi All,

I prefer to use Octopus 0.2. As I tested, it works faster than the previous version.

I have a simple problem which is I couldn't find how to save the history file as txt of the solutions in Octopus 0.2. I am giving 1 for Record Interval and Save Interval. There is no button too, I also checked the menu...

And can you explain that how can I use P input and Ps output ?

Now I get it - I did P and Ps once, but more as an experiment. you put in arbitrary GH data that is an output of your problem's definition per individual. at the end of each generation, Octopus puts out a list of the data of the entire generation. If you have suggestions for this kind of usage, you are welcome to share :)

Saving the history in a txt file is not possible in the current release, though it is still somewhere in there - but neither tested nor made accessible. i'll add a button soon!

As a combination of the above, maybe something like feeding Octopus' P-input with the values you want to record in a txt file (in your case the gene values and the objective values) and put a recorder-component next to the Output 'Ps'. afterwards you should be able to copy /  stream the data from the recorder.

I will try saving the history with that way. I have one more question...

I am giving 10 for maximum generations but the process stops in the 4th generation ? What does it mean ? And when the octopus stops, I see a final selection. Is it the best optimized solution or should I check the cubes in the navigation for finding the optimum one ? If the final selection is not the best solution, how can I find it ?

I would like to add the ghx file but I am using Geco, Karamba and Mesh Edit plugins too. If you have these plugins, let me know it...
