Awesome! thank you David!!

Hi David,

while testing i found some strange behavior.

Making each of the two connections in the def below causes a crash.

Please see the file.

Best Chris

Chris,

Yep, it appears the error is that the m+TopoSel needs the mesh to be welded first.

I'll build that in and update.

Checking on the Bands Error as well, I'm guessing its similar.

Hope to get the update out tonight.

Chris,

The updated user object has been attached here.

This should work with both welded and unwelded meshes now. Please let me know if any issues come up.

I'm updating the Bands and Rings components as well with the same fix.

Additionally, there will be an updated to the Label Vertex as well as a Label Topology Vertex as well. I'll post a reply here when the new user object collection is ready to be downloaded from Food4Rhino.

The following components have all been updated to resolve this same issue.

  • Face Bands
  • Select by Topological Distance
  • Vertex Rings
  • Label Vertex
  • Label Face
  • Label Edge
  • Label Topology Vertex

The user objects have been updated in the main download at Food4Rhino.

Also, just the select modified user objects are attached below.

seems like a glitch, i can only see the preview in just half of the resulting mesh

Which component is this using?

some of the subdivision components does that effect, but not all

also, the perspective preview was shaded, if i set to wireframe its all good

I'm guessing that the normals are just reversed on the original faces that are disappearing. These components don't unify mesh normals. This is in the event someone wants to keep the orientation flipped.
Or it could be that the original mesh quads are just triangulated in a direction which puts them out front. I'm betting "unify normals" would do the trick

Thank you David, this is a treasure trove!
