algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi Chris and Mostapha & all,
I tried everything from the previous threads about this problem.
I get the error that no .eio file is created.This model used to work few weeks ago(Chris and Abraham helped me solve some geometry problems).
I uninstalled energyPlus and installed again, updated the components, and hanges replaced the once that were not automatically replaced.And I have a deadline :(
Could it be because there are no materials assigned?

Can't reproduce the error. It runs fine in my system (even though there are plenty of severe errors).
It is not becouse of the materials.
Check the panel connected to the report output item from the HB_runEnergySimulation. Probably you can get from there some clues what is going on.

thanks for taking your time to reply.The message from the HB_runEnergySimulation is the one i copied above.I know there are materials missing and some other things to complede the definition.What other error did you detect?

Hard to say. But you can see the last line in the report above:

So you have to check below this line and see what is bothering E+ for not running.
I usually don't blame the computer (unless the results are bad for me :-)). Also the E+ installation. Something is missing in your idf. You can check at the location where the idf is created for an ERR file. It has the same info as in the report, but that one you can upload here.

At the working directory there are no ERR, .csv or .eio files.Only the ones attached here

The idf file runs fine in my computer. I'm sure that if you run it manually in yours it will run too. No reason why not. Also sure the E+ is well installed.
When i see the BAT file i only can suppose that there are issues with the path. Just for the sake of this, can you change the path of this file in GH? Maybe use default values (No working directory defined). Maybe in the computer you are using there is no E disk?

There is an E disk in my laptop.I ran it with no working directory and changed the name of the idf file, still same error.
Also opened the idf with energy plus.It shows the errors as in the pictures attached.Meanwhile I have EP 8.3 installed...

From your picture i see that the simulation was performed fine. But from what you wrote it doesn't (but just manually).
You are not supposedly to run manually anyways.
You need E+ 8.1 (!!). See the bat file you attached previously and you'll see that the bat is looking for the 8.1 directory. HB is not yet supporting 8.3 (Chris or Mostapha correct me if i'm wrong). I myself have both versions installed.

Most of the severe error relate to the Solar Distribution in the zone. When the zone is concave (L shape) this Distribution may give errors when set to Full Exterior and Interior" (which i think is default value). You can control this parameter with the HB_EnergySimPar -- solarDistribution_ input (probably ti FullExterior only).
Regarding the other discussion i have to say that i didn't understand well the question, so don't know what to suggest. My feeling is that MaxRad is unnecesary, but again, i may have misunderstood the question.

Abraham, Thanks for providing Nite with great support on this.
Just to confirm the question that you asked about E+ versions, the last stable release from February uses E+ 8.1 and the most up-to-date version on the github uses E+ 8.2. We have not yet updated Honeybee to 8.3 but I think that there is a good chance we will do this before the next stable release, which I imagine should be pretty soon.
Nite, it looks like all of the errors that you are getting with the successful simulation have to do with the specifics of your geometry so the overall E+ results on the zone level should be fairly accurate but values for individual surfaces will not be. To fix the problem, you can either accept the surface-level inaccuracies and change the solar distribution type (what Abraham suggests), you can break up all of your L-shaped surfaces into rectangular surfaces (this usually fixes everything for me), or you can break up your single zone into 3 cube-like zones with air walls between them (this always works for me).
