algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I am trying to simulate a beam model for a structure with quite small elements (<1m). It seems that if the elements are shorter than 1m the results visualisation (more specifically the deformation visualisation) doesn't update. is this a known problem or could it be some graphics problem that causes the simulation not to show?

If I understand correctly karamba works in meters as units and there is no way to use cm or mm as units, right?

thanks a lot!

Hi Stefana,

you probably just have to set 'length/segment' slider to a smaller value. it's in the model view component, under render settings. this is the approximate display resolution (as means of subdivision of their lengths) of all the beams to show.

the simulation still works fine, its just a graphical issue.

Hi Stefana,

do you mean that nothing is drawn or that only straight lines show up when plotting deformations?

In case nothing shows up, check whether 'Elements' is activated in ModelView/Structure Tags.

Best,

Clemens

Hi Robert,

thanks, that was exactly the issue. Works perfectly now!

Clemens, i could see the model, but not the deformations, so it was an issue of the render settings.

thanks a lot,

Stefana
