algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear Karamba Users,

I am trying to simulate sheet piling in Karamba. Is it possible to make a line load that is non linear, as in increasing load over length (top 0, bottom max). Picture for reference:

Thanks for the reply. I tried to do this. do you also have to divide the beam into multiple elements?

I divided the surface into 10 parts and input 10 loads:

 But now it looks line this. It seems all loads are applied to all the surfaces:

I think i got it to work by dividing the element:

It seems to be working fine i just needed to add more divisions.

Can I ask you how you managed to distribute the different loads over the beams? When I make a vector with multiple values, it just places multiple loads on every single beam... 

Hi Emilie,

If you use a line load you need to assign a different beam id for each beam. In my example i use a meshload. If you input a list of 9 loads with 9 meshes it will make 9 different loads on each mesh.

I just installed Karamba 1.3.0 and there is a new variable mesh load. This is probably a more stable way to apply a variable load. But i haven not used it yet.

However, I have chosen to assign different beam id's, which is also quite easy to do!  Cheers, Emilie
