algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm trying to model a reciprocal structure like the one of the picture (see attached file)

All the beams have a fixed heigth.

In this case the axis of the beam area separated (Zdist= beam_height) from its upper bean and its lower support beam.

Any idea about wat would be the best way to model this kind of beam unions???

Thanks!

A way to do this is to intersect all of your axis beam lines and then draw virtual connections between the intersection points. Once you have your drawn model you should use the Line-Line intersection component in Karamba to create all of your beam elements.

You may want to apply to the virtual connection elements a very stiff material (virtual ) and fixity on both ends.

Good luck

Thanks for the quick response, yousef !

Just to clarify, you mean to insert in each intersection small vertical beams(virtuals). Their length would be exactly the heigth of the horizontal beams(real) with a high stiff value(virtual).

These virtual vertical beams would intersect each horizontal beam (real) with its upper one (real).

Ok, I'll try!
