algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Is there a way to add a custom cross-section to Karamba? Talking about aluminium-frame type of sections - is it possible by somehow converting a curve drawing into a cross section?

thanks!

Hi Chris,

you can use one of the karamba cross section types for graphical representation and set the cross section properties according to your needs. This can be done either by creating a cross section table (e.g. directly from Karamba) or via the 'Modify CroSecs'-component. For details see the manual.

There are free programs available on the internet (e.g. INCA2 at http://www.u-pfeiffer.de/inca2/inca2-00.html) which can be used to calculate the cross section properties like area, moment of inertia,... from section drawings.

Best,

Clemens
