algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello,
I'm trying to check the differences between Buckling modes component and RSBuck in RStab to obtain buckling load factors for my thesis.
In many models the results are the same, but in one specific case RSBuck shows many more "modes": first mode in Karamba is like the 61. mode in RSBuck (see figure). It looks like Karamba shows some specific modes in that case. Do you have an idea why in that specific model there is a difference between these two softwares? Just in case: model is exported from Karamba to RStab without any changes, beam forces are the same in both softwares.
Best regards,
wr

Hello Wojciech,
without the Karamba3D model is is hard to guess what could be the reason for the difference of results.
In the RStab model it looks like there is local buckling in some of the members. Did you use truss elements in the Karamba3D model? If yes try to switch the elements in RStab to 'Truss N only'.
Best,
Clemens
Hello,
after few changes in model (different joints addition) both models look pretty close in buckling analysis,
thank you for your help :),
