algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear Karamba Team,dear Clemens,

how can I add additional nodes without cutting a line?

Please see the attached pictures.

Triangle01 = primary structure

Triangel02 = secondary structure

Karamba doesnt know that the secondary structure ist connected to the primary structure.

Best regards

Jörg

Dear Jörg,

beam elements like that used in karamba do not allow intermediate connections in between their end-points - from a mathematical point of view. Yet I agree, that such a possibility would be very useful - thank you for that suggestion. It's certainly an item on the todo-list for one of the next releases. For the time being however the only possibility to solve that issue is to prepare the geometry accordingly (i.e. cutting the lines) before feeding them into karamba.

Best regards,

Clemens

Hey

in order to maintain e.g. an id of the elements that make up the different structural hierarchies you can assign an id to a set of beams (the primary structure and the secondary structure). see the karamba learning example 'suspension bridge' or 'using horster' for reference..!

best
