Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm tryning to make some like this (http://studiomode.nu/mode/384) with Kangaroo. I've maked a simple definition with two threads and it works. When i try to make a definition that works with all threads I want I can find the way to make Kangaroo calculates.

The definition posted is the one that doesn't work (kangaroo generate invalid curves in the solution and Rhino shows this message in the command line "An error occured in the display pipeline @ hh:mm:ss(XXXms)")

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards.

Ok, I've maked some improvements....the problem with Kangaroo solver was some duplicated lines in the Connections input. Removing them and no more problems with the calculation of the points.

But...I have the lines visualization problem yet..."Invalid curve" message again.

Uploading the update version.

PD.: The Rhino command line error message doesn't go neither...

Ok, I've hide the kangaroo direct solution and maked the curves using the particles information. Know, everything works, not like I would like but it works.

I hope to upload some videos with the results soon.

If someone knows why I got that errors in visualization and with the curves transformed, please reply this thread.

Best Regards.

I made a few minor changes.

To output the curves I fed them through a line param before going into the Geometry input.

I also changed the exponent of the attraction force to -2, because I've found from experience that for some reason the sharper fall off with higher exponents gives a better bundling result.

I also added a small negative cutoff to the attraction so that they don't explode when they get too close

Hey!!!!! Thanks man! I was playing with cutoff too in 3D examples :) I have improve the definition: added "interconnetc points", some extra code to make some test in 3D and 2D...etc.

My problem was trying to transform the original curves, and you've gave me the answer: use segments.

Ok, It looks like line param makes the diference :)

I'm attaching the last one before read your answer and a picture of a 3D test. Hope anyone with this problem could use them.

Thank you a lot for your fast reply.

Best Regards.

I have tried to do this before, but when I connected the Shatter to the Line, it said there was an error (on the line) that it failed to convert from curve to line, do you know why this happens?

Some kind of bug discovered here: Kangaroo makes one more point than logic solution.

I'm trying to make an atractor system added to the threads and that point makes the system jump rythmically.

Ok, I'm answering myself: the free point is the atractor...I must put in in the anchor point list in Kangaroo too :)
