algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I'm trying to make a simulation in kinematics through Kangaroo. I have a point that rotates according to a force that is changing due to a length. I have managed to succed the rotation with Vortex component, but when the simulation runs it rotates continously. I don't know to how to control this rotation according to length parameter (Increases or decreases through a slider). Please help me if anyone knows.

Sorry for my basic question.

Thank you

anyone? can you please help me? i've uploaded the script, and I want to take control over the rotation motion while the sphere increases. Can I control the simulation through this? thank you

Hi Danny,

Vortex applies a continuous rotational force about the axis - if you want a rotational force depending on angle, then bending could be more what you need. Or if it should somehow relate to the weight of the sphere, then maybe just a unary force, which when combined with the springs causes a rotation like a pendulum.

However, it's hard to be more specific, because I'm afraid I don't understand what is the result you are after here.

Could you explain a bit more about what is being simulated?

Hello Daniel,

Thanks for answering. What I need to do is to control the size of a line so that when it increases it pushes the 1st line of the triangle to rotate (as looks in the picture attached) keeping the same length as before. When this happens, the second line of the triangle moves its end point onto the baseline, so that it pulls the red one.

I've seen this discussion: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/kinematics-with-kangaroo-...
which help me a lot on how to perform the rotation and the linkage, but I don't know how to have control over it.

Sorry for my basic questions.
Thank you again
