Best way to convert this surface to mesh for use w/ Ivy?

I would like to convert this surface to a mesh in order to attempt to use Ivy to unroll it, add taps, and build it from matte board. I’m not too familiar with meshes. I think of them as surfaces that are more difficult to edit and extract data from, but I’m sure that’s incorrect.

In my particular case, I’m not sure how well this will work with the fact my surface has several holes in it. This could be as simple as plugging my joined Breps into one mesh component or a lot more complex.

First sorry for the delay in my response. 

You can fabricate this is with Ivy but this is not the best way. 

I suggest you convert your base surface (without any details - like the holes) to a mesh. It seems you already have the triangles more or less. The holes will be added later in as additional geometry in the unfolding workflow. 

From there it is pretty straight forward to generate fabrication data with Ivy. You can use the example that shows unfolding with additional geometry for this. (it is included with Ivy on food4Rhino).

Thank you for your reply! Since my post, I have adjusted by approach to be similar to what you describe. My holes (triangles) will not be modeled and instead considered the additional geometry.

I keep receiving an error when I get to the 'NodeGeo to Graph' graph where that component is telling me "Some of the provided curves are not planar or not in the corresponding mesh face plane". I generated the triangles on the mesh faces by intersecting one mesh with the original mesh, so I'm not sure why it's saying they are not planar.
