Hi, I am using UDP receiver in gHowl. It works well until I packaged everything into a cluster, and the UDP receiver keeps sayting "AddressAlreadyInUse: you might have opened this socket on another program or another instance of Rhino." I wonder does anyone know how to possibly fix this problem? Many thanks

Hello,

I have a processing scripting that want to take it to grasshopper and would like to connect it live. I was wondering if anyone can help. I know ghowl is the way to do it and I tried and kind of half the way but has not gotten the answer yet. I was wondering if anyone can help on it. My scripting in processing uses music to draw random lines. I attached my code. Thanks!

Hello,

I am really new in working with grasshopper. I am a bit familiar with its system with nodes as I am working for years with blender node system. Although, I have to spend some time to get comfortable with it.

I discovered ghowl and it is very interesting. I am following this tutorial but it does not seem to work correctly.

Anybody who can help me a bit?

hi there. I have problem with gh collecting data with UDP receiver component. The process is that gh sending out a message with UDP sender, esp8266 receive the message through a specific IP and Port. And then esp8266 reply that message by sending out another message. I am expecting to receive that reply message in gh and try to visualize that latter. However, gh just won't receive. I tried Packet Sender to do the same thing. It works fine.

great job you have done here with this tools, thank you very much for your dedication.

I have found an issue though, and dont know how to surpass it. When i use the kml exporter the resulting geometry is flat. Not totally flatened but with only partial z dimensions, as you can see in the picture. This happens with all elements (lines, breps and meshes).

It is easy to visualise this mesh via GHowl but ONLY WITHOUT COLORS. Any clue on how to define the color of each face in the mesh?

Should I import them as google earth polygons? Then how do I modify the color/transparency of each?

Since polygons are heavy to visualise, is there a way to visualise faces as points located at the face centroid and then attribute them a color?

Currently the output of XYZ-GEO is in Decimal degrees with grasshopper's standard six decimal places. This limits the precision of real world data to about 10cm. My application generally requires 1 cm level precision and site surveying is often in the mm's.

Is there some trick for more decimal places in grasshopper.Maybe within only certain functions? Or if all else fails, how might one go about changing the format of XYZ-GEO to output coordinates in degrees minutes seconds so…

Is there some trick for more decimal places in grasshopper.Maybe within only certain functions? Or if all else fails, how might one go about changing the format of XYZ-GEO to output coordinates in degrees minutes seconds so that more of the numbers are on the left side of the decimal. This could easily give 1mm precision that most all modern RTK and DGPS equipment is capable of.
