algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey there,

I am doing an experiment with inflation and the mesh inflate tool is really helpful. Im coming across a wierd problem though.

Inflating the mesh by a specific amount using a slider for the pressure works fine. When I return the slider to 0 to get the pre-inflated geometry Rhino crashes for some reason. Is this a bug in the system or (more likely) does my computer just suck?

Also I was playing around with the Proximity Tolerance parameter, and was wondering how exactly it changes the geometry of the inflated mesh.

Thanks for any help,

Antony

Hi Antony,

I guess I've never tested that retraction back to zero, I can repeat that crash and I will fix it for the next build.  Thanks for reporting it.

The Proximity tolerance affects how "close" the mesh vertex can be to "restrating" geometry.  Does the attached definition help make sense of it?  Hope you enjoy the tools.

Cheers,

Jon

Thanks Jon, understanding it much better now, the tools are great!
