Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All,

I'm interested in opinions and ideas for an animal name for StructDrawRhino.

I quite like BullAnt.  It's Australian (Wikipedia mentions they are also in New Caledonia).  Ants are strong, work hard in a colony etc, so there are a few synergies I like.

Not everyone knows what a BullAnt is (but I didn't realize a Bongo was an animal for a long time), I prefer a two syllable description rather than just ant.

So, please post any thoughts or opinions.  The StructDrawRhino plug-in is now much more computational geometry based (for all sorts of designs) rather than strictly Architecture and Structure.

Tom (of [UTO] ) created a great graphic icon that I've used for this group.

Cheers,

Jon

Octopus!

After reading this thread, I also like th spider idea quite much, I also thought about tarantula in the first place.

Since I am a big admirer of Frei Ottos works, what about

radiolaria ?

In fact there are animals, or amoebia, and when they die they leave this fascinating structures behind.

An analogy occurs with grasshopper and structural software, since grasshopper is a kind of living geometry and while transferring it through structure draw to gsa, sofistik, ansys etc. the geometry kind of freezes and gets tested by the physics that rule our world.

Cheers Udo.
