Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Comment by Itai Cohen Moved to Discussion.

Hi Jeff,

I have an educational version of Rhino SR9 (12-Aug-2010), and I get an error saying I need a newer version. When I click 'check for updates' the webpage states that I have the newest version.

Please advice,

Thank you very much,

Itai

Itai, are you getting this error with the DIVA for rhino installation? My SR9 of Rhino is dated March 9 2011, so you may want to start by checking that and getting the latest grasshopper build as well. Also, is this with DIVA version 1.901?

Jeff

Thanks for your replay.

attached are screenshots of the rhino about screen and the plugin installation.

Rhino is SR9, dated 12-Aug-2010 (It's strange, I know, it must be somehow connected to it being an educational version, since the procedure to get it is different and we can not update versions like commercial users do due to different CD-Keys)

DIVA is indeed 1.901.

Any suggestions?

Best regards,

Itai

Hi Itai,

First time running into this error and I am not sure what is going on. I checked with my own version as well as another DIVA developer and both of our educational versions have the date that matches Rhino's SR dates http://download.rhino3d.com/rhino/4.0/sr/changes/

Maybe try re-installing rhino with the SR patch download directly from Rhino, or just re-installing the patch from Rhino. Let me know if this does or doesn't work.

Jeff

Hi again Jeff.

It was indeed a university license related problem as I suspected. I have alerted Brian from Mcneel's tech support and he sent me a patch to fix it.

Works fine now. Thanks for you effort.

Best regards,

Itai
