Great. I guess you can use vertex color if you manage to get the vertex numbers from the original mesh. I meant ivy does not readily provide them or transfer colors automatically. I'm glad you could find a workaround.

<p>The flattening of the colors was necessary only for saving the graphics as a vector .ai file (for print) using the human plugin.</p>
<p>It is possible to transfer also gradient colors to the unrolled orange peels.</p>

<p>I managed to do this eventually though I had to "flatten" the gradient so that every mesh triangle has a solid color. I even made a "color bleed" that passes the cutting lines.</p>
