<p>What you are seeing there is normal in Grasshopper preview when you have more than one component on the canvas representing the same geometry.</p>
<p>The selected(green) mesh is being shown at the same time in the same place as the unselected(red) one, and the overlap causes this blotchy appearance.</p>
<p>Also - you'll probably want to turn on <em>Preview Mesh Edges</em> from the Display menu in Grasshopper.</p>
