Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

When i want to open Grasshopper there are two things that happen. the first one is nothing when i enter the command 'grasshopper' the second thing (when the first doesn't happen) is a pop up that says that rhino had opened in safe-mode and that certain plug-ins might crash rhino. is asks if i really want to load that perticular Grashopper plugin.

when I click yes to the answer, I get a second pop-up. an error that says Rhino has failed to open the GrasshopperPlugin. It says that this plugin is a .Net plugin and i do not have any .Net support on my computer.

Anyone can help me with that?

Hi Thomas,

do you have .NET installed on your machine? If so, what version? Rhino4 does not enforce this as far as I know. You'll need .NET 3.5 to run Grasshopper on Rhino4, and you'll need .NET 4.0 or higher to run Grasshopper on Rhino5, but Rhino5 makes sure that .NET is installed.

You can get .NET 3.5 for free from the Microsoft servers: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=21
