Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I can't pin down the exact cause of the problem, but it's been affecting me intermittently for the last month or so. Occasionally, upon waking my computer from sleep, I find that open Grasshopper files no longer listen to changes in referenced rhino objects. if I make a change to a referenced object, the parameter referencing that object returns no data - until I make another change to the definition, such as add a new component. See attached video for an example.

This doesn't happen always, and I can't consistently reproduce it, but it seems like it might happen most often after waking my computer from sleep.

Interesting, I wonder if it's just a matter of me getting the going-to-sleep-no-need-for-continued-event-handling message but not the waking-up-better-get-back-in-line message.

Not sure what to do about this for the time being. Does it get fixed when you switch between GH documents?

It doesn't get fixed if I switch GH documents, but if I open a new Rhino + new GH it does fix itself.

That's hardly a 'fix', but if switching doesn't repair it then it does limit the possible causes. I wish I could repeat it but so far no luck.

I'm adding a feature now that creates a debug text block of the current state of Grasshopper + loaded documents. Maybe this will help narrow down the problem (and other difficult-to-repeat problems) in the future.
