algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

Any idea how to set the planes correctly on a surface?

I want to align some letters along a surface that will be divided in segments. The planes are not all oriented to the same direction.

I tried deconstructing & reconstructing the planes, but got no result

Any idea on how to fix this ?

Thanks Joseph,

Not exactly what I'm looking for, but it's a very interesting approach

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you might find
You get what you need

Did you consider 'Map to Surface (Map Srf)'?  Probably need a little "padding" around the letters for the Source ('Base Srf'):

Added 'Padding' slider (yellow group) - much better:

Thanks Joseph,

This is what I am looking for ! Your approach is genius !

The Swap UV component seems to have a hard time loading (old gh version).

Do you have any idea how to declare the T parameter ?

That 'Swap UV' script component is from Danny Boyes, found here:

Maybe you can find an alternative that works for you.

By the way, here are a couple options worth exploring:

3D?

Hello Joseph,

I get back to this definition after a long pause & this time I can't get it right.

There are some components  are not loaded properly List Item + Addition, (it has happened before )

Do you mind sending me a screenshot of the def. so I can see where they are missing ?
