Hello Tina

I checked your grasshopper file. There are too many surfaces.

I think you would better to simplify your component with sweep 2 and pipe tool.

The problem of your component is you made a surface and brep.

Union function is not strong in grasshopper files.

Python union is little bit stronger than grasshopper one.

I think optimize way to make your shape is to add lines and use a divide curve, cull and pipe component.
