DESCRIPTION:Parametric Facade Design Workshop, an initiative by Re-Thi
 nking the Future and WEsearch lab is a series of 3-day long workshops 
 across 10 cities of India, with an aim of providing insight on Paramet
 ric Design, and the inherent logic that constitutes and drives it. Thi
 s course will use Rhino & Grasshopper as an aid in design exploration 
 by looking at Facade Design as a complex inter-relationship of intrins
 ic and extrinsic parameters.  Using parameters to define geometry mark
 s a fundamental shift in aesthetic value: from the exact ‘repetition
 ’ of elements in traditional design to a varied but ‘similar’ us
 e of elements in parametric design. Based on the variables, options wi
 ll be explored (as many as mathematically possible), by automating the
  process of exploration, similar in principle to the rapid doodles dev
 eloped during initial conceptual stage. Participants will get a first-
 hand taste of the design workflow of top ranked universities and pract
