SUMMARY:modeLab Scripting Parameters Workshop | NYC
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will introduce participants to the concepts 
 and applications of parametric and scripted design logics in a fast-pa
 ced and hands-on learning environment. The workshop will investigate i
 teration, evaluation, and algorithmic strategies in VB.NET within Gras
 shopper. Over five evening sessions and one weekend work session, part
 icipants will develop and prototype scripted design output in coordina
 tion with digital fabrication. Participants will gain a core understan
 ding of the techniques and syntax of extending the functionality of Gr
 asshopper through scripting in VB.NET.\n\nRhino, in conjunction with t
 he parametric modeling plug-in Grasshopper, offers the possibility to 
 explore parametric and computational design with unprecedented fluidit
 y. Leveraging this capacity, we have structured this workshop around a
  series of design strategies with supporting content to foster a fast-
 paced and productive learning environment. Furthermore, the workshop w
 ill provide participants with time for directed research and access to
  digital fabrication equipment (CNC 3-Axis Mill and CNC High Force Cut
 ter) in our studio to develop individual design projects.\n\nAs part o
 f a larger online infrastructure, modeLab, this workshop provides part
 icipants with continued support and knowledge to draw upon for future 
 learning.\n\nAttendance will be limited to provide each participant ma
