SUMMARY:InFORMed Geometries BERLIN | Parametric Design with Grasshoppe

DESCRIPTION:InFORMed Geometries is a 4-days introduction to the tools 
 and methods of algorithmic modeling with Grasshopper. The aim of the c
 ourse is to give the partecipants the theorethical and technical knowl
 edge useful to start exploring the world of contemporary parametric de
 sign methodologies.  Starting with a review of NURBs modeling in Rhin
 oceros, the course will introduce the main features of Grasshopper, a 
 plug-in for algorithmic and associative modeling within the Rhino envi
 ronment. After an overview of the structure and the possibilities of t
 his tool, the students will be guided in the exploration of different 
 parametric design themes, such as attractors, surfaces discretization 
 and components population, fabrication data generation for CNC lasercu
 tting.  The course will end with an individual exercise, where every s
 tudent will be able to tackle a topic of his/her own interested, alway
