 TURE OF DIGITAL FASHION 3 (20-27 April 2014), seeking to create an i
 nventive collaborative environment.\n \nTYPE : Course module and Wor
 kshop\nThe event is open for anybody interested from all the fields of
  design, including: architecture, interior design, furniture design, p
 roduct design, fashion design, scenography, and engineering.\n  \n1.
  COURSE MODULE (20-23 April 2014) - optional\n + type: 3 days inten
 sive course regarding basic knowledge in parametric design (LEVEL 1)\n
  + software: Rhinoceros & Grasshopper\n + plugins: Kangaroo, Weaver 
 Bird, Lunch box, Ghowl, Geco\n + achievements:     \n- acquaintin
 g to the components & the concept of Generative Design\n- understandin
 g the strategies in Algorithmic Design\n- how to easily insert simple 
 mathematical equation into the project to gain more control\n- how to
  utilize proper plugins with respect to their nature of the project\n-
  interacting with different analysis platforms such as Ecotect & remot
 e controller\n- solving several exercises with different scales( 2D- 3
 D )  during each phase of the workshop\n  \n2. WORKSHOP (23-27 A
 pril 2014)\nA 5 day Design-Based Research Workshop exploring new techn
 iques in Digital Architecture/Fabrication, with a specific focus on th
 e use of generative systems and parametric modeling as tools for creat
 ive expression.\nOur ultimate goal is to increasing the efficiency of 
 utilizing digital tools in parallel with geometric performance of the 
 primitive design agent.  \n+ +  CONCEPT\nFashion and Architecture a
 re both based on basic life necessities – clothing and shelter.\nHow
 ever, they are also forms of self-expression – for both creators and
  consumers.\nBoth fashion and architecture affect our emotional being 
 in many ways.\nThe agenda of this workshop is to investigate on the ov
 erlap between these two areas of design, art & fashion.\nFashion and a
 rchitecture express ideas of personal, social and cultural identity, r
 eflecting the concerns of the user and the ambition of the age. Their 
 relationship is a symbiotic one and throughout history, clothing and b
 uildings have echoed each other in form and appearance. This only seem
 s natural as they not only share the primary function of providing she
 lter and protection for the body, but also because they both create sp
 ace and volume out of flat, two-dimensional materials.\nWhile they hav
 e much in common, they are also intrinsically different – address th
 e human scale, but the proportions, sizes and shapes differ enormously
 .\n+ + +  OBJECTIVES\nSo far, Architects have been using techniques s
 uch as folding, bending etc. to create space, structural roofs or diff
 erent other structural shapes.\nThe agenda of this workshop goes furth
 er with the investigation of algorithmic thinking through generative t
 ools Integrated in design.\nThe challenge is creating a bridge that co
 nnects these two areas of design, architecture and fashion that perfor
 m at two opposite scales. \n+ + + + TECHNICAL BRIEF\nIn the early sta
 ges physical models and low-tech strategies will be used, allowing the
  participants to gain a greater understanding of materials, fabricatio
 n and assembly methods as well as simple, yet pragmatic structural sol
 utions.\nLater in the workshop these strategies will be digitalized an
 d elaborated using software visualizing tools such as Rhinoceros and t
