DESCRIPTION:Following up on the AA/NAi Visiting School São Paulo last
  July (see results: http://saopaulo.aaschool.ac.uk/?page_id=553), the 
 AA is now going to Rio de Janeiro - April 5-14, 2011!\n The 10-day wor
 kshop, open to designers worldwide, will explore the parametric mix of
  new raw materials and the re-use of elements from Carnival floats and
  costumes, transforming them using generative design processes and new
  digitally fabricated joint components, to create interventions for m
 icro-venues and urban furniture in the Porto do Rio region. \n \nTau
 ght by AA Staff, recent AA graduates, and computation and fabrication 
 professionals,  the studio-based workshop will include extensive inst
 ruction in Rhino Grasshopper (including GECO, and Galapagos, to integr
 ate environmental optimization, simulation and parametric control) and
  digital fabrication processes using laser cutter, CNC-milling and rap
 id-prototyping machines, sponsored by DS4 and SEACAM, all of which wil
