SUMMARY:Advanced Parametric Techniques with Grasshopper
DESCRIPTION:Modelling and simulation capabilities of software packages
  used within the film and game industries are having a powerful and di
 sruptive influence on the development and representation of form withi
 n the design field.  These highly innovative tools and techniques off
 er opportunities for designers to continually push the limits of these
  technologies and fully explore the boundaries of their creativity.  
 The potentials of these methodologies allow for an extreme amount of d
 iversity and complexity in form generation, capable of providing new o
 pportunities for developing ideas and thought processes for novel desi
 gn.\nThrough a project based approach, participants will be introduced
  to Autodesk’s Maya software to utilize its advanced modelling capab
 ilities and new design logics to explore form finding in innovative wa
 ys, surpassing the norms and the boundaries of conventionally linear d
 esign tools.  They will explore how to employ a design process using 
 digital tools to create an innovative tower massing design, that is re
 fined and precise, and represent these ideas through rendering techniq
 ues that powerfully present concept proposals.\nThrough the modelling 
 skills acquired in this course, participants will be able to apply the
 ir knowledge to a number of different types of projects, at multiple s
 cales, and be capable of exploring the evocative and imaginative lim
