SUMMARY:3D Printing with 6-axis Industrial Robots
DESCRIPTION:Robots.IO presents a series of workshops that focus on lea
 rning through making, with digital fabrication at its core, through th
 e use of IO robot simulation plug-in for Rhino’s Grasshopper . In th
 ese workshops, participants will engage in 3D printing using Robots.IO
  in-house robots, in order to generate their personal designs, which t
 hey can later keep. Participants will be introduced to robotic fabrica
 tion and will investigate approaches to generate forms through digital
  parametric design and physical prototyping. The fabrication process o
 f this workshops will speculate on the advantages of using 6-axis robo
 tic arms to extend what is possible in conventional 3D printing. Robot
 ic control and material intelligence will be combined to allow a new w
 ay of free-form 3D printing. This workshop is appropriate for professi
 onals and students and will take place on the 2nd and 9th of May 2015.
