Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

These simulations (carried out in Kangaroo in Grasshopper) simulate the surface deformations of a modulated ( four kinds of modulations ) composite sandwich panel.

The panel consists of a top layer of Aluminium (visible) and a bottom layer of sponge (invisible)

The mesh colouration visually distinguishes the strained from the less-strained panels indicating which areas suffer most drastic deformations in the modulating process.

BLUE = no change (close to flat)
RED = lots of change
WHITE = mid range marker
