Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Rendered directly to bitmap using custom code. Unfortunately due to the chaotic nature of the attractor any animation that shows a change in variables is always discontinuous.

Dimitry, I trace the Lorenz graph with very small steps, and then add a miniscule amount of colour to whatever pixel it is on top of. Amounts are added together so it gets brighter over time. The images were rendered at about 7000x5000 pixels and then downsampled to give a smoother look. It takes a couple of seconds to render one image (about as long to save the image to png as it takes to render using 8 cores).

Hi David, what is the graphical output? Is that standard colored points? or mesh vertexes?

Exquisite. I love chaotic attractors.

I truly hope this "direct to bitmap" rendering will be added in next version/published
