algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I'm trying to model the bending of a hinge with a certain stiffness.

Therefore I use the Bend component in which I can specify the BendStrength of an angle between three points.

My question is, what is the physical meaning of the numerical value BendStrength? Or what are the constitutive equations of this component?

Is the BendStrength defined as:

Moment = BendStrenght * Delta_Angel

similar to Hooke's law?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Best regards

Marius

I'm interested too, I follow the discussion.

You can look up the source code for most of the standard Kangaroo2 goals on Daniels GitHub. Some of these have references to where the algorithmic logic of the goal originates (for instance the angle goal, which can be used to model a bending elastica). In extension of these, you can also look up the K2Engineering goals/elements on Cecilies Github. While this might not necessarily help in understanding the logic of the various underlying models, it certainly does not get more explicit than the actual source ;)
