Is it possible to find the Yield Point of a simple structure??

The displacement node seems to not change the visualization regardless of the amount of forces applied??

Is it also possible to simulate how much a material can deform before it reaches the yield point? on a simple beam between two supports.

Does any of these resultant components show the yield point??

Thanks,

Shuwei

Dear Shuwei,

in Karamba the color range for rendering numerical results always stretches from the minimum to the maximum value by default. Therefore the color distribution does not change when the amplitude of the displacements is scaled by a factor.

In order to determine the load factor at which the structure starts to yield you could visualize the utilization using the BeamView-component (submenu 'Render Settings').

Another possibility would be the 'Utilization of Elements'-component. See the manual for details and the difference between those two.

Best,

Clemens
